A DEVICE that can charge your mobile phone even when you are miles from home has been developed by an engineering student at Strathclyde University.

Designed for walkers the kinetic charger straps to the thigh and can power phones, MP3 players and handheld GPS devices by harnessing energy from the user's legs even when they are miles from the nearest power source.
