A MAN had a miracle escape after plunging around 30 feet down a reservoir access shaft. The alarm was raised at around 8pm on Saturday night by people nearWaulkmill Glen Reservoir in Corselet Road, Pollok, Glasgow, who seen the man disappear down the hole.

Strathclyde Fire and Rescue crews from Pollok and Clarkston fire stations plus a heavy rescue unit from Easterhouse raced to the scene, along with Scottish Ambulance Service paramedics.
