THE Clyde was today put firmly back at the top of Glasgow's regeneration drive. City council leader Steven Purcell announced he would take personal charge of the river's redevelopment.
The move comes as a clear signal the Clyde will not be forgotten in Mr Purcell's bid to put a more human face on Glasgow's physical transformation. Mr Purcell's predecessor Charlie Gordon, who is now MSP for Cathcart, championed riverside redevelopments as leader of the council. He was replaced by Mr Purcell as council leader six months ago but stayed on as spokesman on the Clyde before successfully running for the Scottish Parliament last month.See the full content of this document
