THE agenda at the World Health Organisation's conference in Florence which lists so many projects initiated in Glasgow is a welcome recognition of the determined efforts to rid the city of its sick man of Europe tag.

Young people are benefiting from free fruit, breakfasts, milk, water, swimming and after school sports classes alongside other programmes tackling tooth decay and general health while other projects target adult health and deprivation.
