SHOCKING statistics out recently have revealed just how poor the reading ability of a large proportion of Glasgow teenagers is today.

With almost a third of S2 pupils failing to attain appropriate reading standards at the age of 14, and only half of male pupils expected to reach the appropriate standards in writing, the Evening Times is today backing the Get Glasgow Reading campaign.
