TAM (Castlemilk) - Was it ever a rule in football that goalkeepers could not roll up their shirt sleeves, or wear short- sleeved shirts, so as to allow the referee to see who handles ball at crosses etc, in a busy penalty box. If so, when did it change as during World Cup and European games, keepers clearly wear short sleeves?
WE HAVE never come across such a rule. Originally the shirt worn by a goalkeeper was identical to the outfield players in his team.See the full content of this document
