GLASGOW people are fond of their television sets - but many do not like paying for the privilege of watching them. In the first six months of this year, 10,275 city viewers were caught watching without a valid licence, said officials from TV Licensing.

That's more than Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Dundee, Paisley, Kilmarnock, Stirling and a clutch of other Scottish towns put together.
