IT'S a sad day and a poor reflection on our society that all police in the city centre are going to have to carry metal detectors in order to stamp out knife crime (Evening Times, Jan 9).
I grew up in Ruchazie in the 60s and, even though it could be wild at times, none of my pals would have dreamed of carrying a knife.
