LUNG cancer patients in Scotland are to be denied access to a life expectancy increasing drug because it does not represent value for money.

The Scottish Medicines Consortium (SMC), the body that advises which drugs should be prescribed by the NHS, yesterday announced it will not recommend the use of Gefitinib.
