Fulham boss Chris Coleman has rubbished claims he was chasing Celtic striker John Hartson with a (pounds) 4million bid.

"I was surprised to see the stories about John. We're good mates, but I would never have sounded him without first approaching Martin O'Neil. If I had an offer then I would have gone straight to him," he said.
