IT MIGHT seem a big jump from mortgage and financial adviser to running your own ladies' fashion shop, but Alison McInnes simply sees it as the next step in her career plan "I had worked in finance for six years and it gave me good grounding for setting up my own business, but there was always part of me that wanted to concentrate on clothes and shoes, " she explains. "I've always had a great interest in ladies' fashion and my first business opportunity came up three years ago, when I was 24. I'm from Falkirk and know the area well and while it has some lovely fashion outlets, I felt it needed a shoe shop, so I got in touch with Business Gateway and The Princes Trust to investigate the help and support available in setting up my own business.
