Summary
Scotland's Dario Franchitti suffered a late collapse to finish only 12th at the centenary running of the Indy 500 in Indianapolis. Franchitti, a double winner at The Brickyard, looked in an excellent position to secure his third success with fewer than 10 laps of the 200 left.
But, with his fuel supply falling, and he slipped out of the reckoning in the final five laps. The race was won by England's Dan Wheldon, who finally came good after being runner-up in the last two years.See the full content of this document
