ASECONDARY school branded a health hazard by inspectors is to be closed for at least a year.

Mainholm Academy in Ayr has asbestos and construction problems, as well as severe water, gas and electrical faults. Councillors allocated GBP50,000 to cover urgent repairs, some of which were carried out before pupils returned yesterday from their Easter holidays.
