900 Scots Whisky Jobs Axed Two Plants Closed in Massive Shake-Up
DRINKS giant Diageo is to cut 900 jobs in Scotland, the firm announced today. It will close its sites in Port Dundas, Glasgow, and Kilmarnock over the next two years . Jobs will also go at the Shieldhall packaging plant in Glasgow.
THE whisky trade has been rocked by the news today of 900 job losses. Diageo, which owns Internationally famous brands like Johnnie Walker and J&B is closing its entire operations at Port Dundas, Glasgow as well as the packag ing plant in Kilmarnock, and instead is focusing its resources on sites in Fife and Central Scotland.

HUNDREDS of bank workers are to lose their jobs in Scotland after Lloyds Banking Group announced plans to cut 2100 posts across its UK operations in a move that was attacked by unions.
