MAN had his throat cut in an early-morning brawl today. And another man suffered head injuries when violence erupted. Both are now in hospital after trouble fl ared around 4am. It began in a Lanarkshire flat, and spilled out onto the street.

A SPANIARD who kicked a Scots holidaymaker to death in an unprovoked attack has been jailed for 15 years. Hamed Mohamed Hamed, 33, from the Spanish enclave of Melilla in north Africa, battered Brian Hobbs, 52, on the terrace of a popular pub on the holiday island of Fuerteventura, in the Canaries, in May 2006.
