Insane Knifeman Cleared of Attack On Gp at Surgery
A MAN who repeatedly stabbed his GP in her Glasgow surgery has been cleared of the horrific attack because he was insane at the time. At the High Court in Glasgow, judge Lord Carloway ruled Ian McGregor, 62, assaulted Dr Helen Jackson to the danger of her life by stabbing her repeatedly on the body and attempting to stab her on the face.
150,000 Pupils Face Testing Time
AROUND 150,000 pupils today began sitting school exams that will be held across Scotland for the next seven weeks. From Standard Grades to Advanced Highers, the youngsters will tackle more than 500 different exams and generate millions of scripts to be scrutinised by 9000 markers.
Woman in Ju Red in Car Crash Dies
A YOUNG woman critically injured in a Glasgow car crash last week has died. The 25 year-old woman, who has not yet been named, was a passenger in a Volkswagen car which crashed into a wall in Kingston Street, Tradeston last Friday.
A GLASGOW pensioner has been robbed by a bogus workman in her Anniesland home. The 79-year-old answered her door in Fulton Street to a man who said he needed to carry out building repairs.

POLITICIANS are calling for greater protection for witnesses after a woman was allegedly murdered in a "safe house". Jeanette Cooper was due to testify in court against two men when she was found drowned at a Maryhill flat, reports said. Her body was said to have been set on fire.
